New Mexico Highlands University Women’s Volleyball Head Coach Bryan Crawford is currently in his fourth season with the Cowgirls. 

Crawford is a Southern California native and has coached for more than a decade at the high school, junior club and collegiate levels. He has led the NMHU Women’s Volleyball program with passion and enthusiasm, guided by a vision to take Highlands Volleyball to new heights.


Prior to Highlands, Crawford guided Iowa Central in Fort Dodge, Iowa. During the 2011 season he led the Tritons to a No. 10 national ranking, culminating in a 44-6 overall record, an 8-1 conference mark, and he was named Coach of the Year.

Crawford also served a two-year stint with Snow College in Utah. During his tenure, he turned around a once struggling program into a respected conference contender, earning a Top-20 national ranking for the first time since 1986. The Snow Badgers were ranked as high as No. 13 in the nation. Crawford led Snow College to a 35-28 overall record and an 18-13 record in his final season despite playing in a conference that featured four Top-15 nationally ranked teams. He holds a 29-58 record at Highlands.

During his coaching career, athletes under Crawford’s tutelage have earned many honors. His coaching resume boasts three All-Americans, 16 All-Region/Conference honorees, 10 Honorable Mentions, four All-Academic Team selections, seven Academic All-Americans, and 43 All-Academic honorees.

Since 2001, Crawford has been involved with over 100 volleyball camps and clinics across the country. He has been part of volleyball as a coach and player at all levels. As a competitive player, his high school boys volleyball team made consecutive California state tournament appearances and his junior club boys volleyball teams have qualified and appeared at multiple Junior Olympics, placing among the top teams in the nation.  Crawford played for the 2001-02 Utah State Men's Volleyball team and he has trained and competed with some of the best names in sand volleyball as well.

Bryan is married to the former Angela Goodfellow; they have three sons: Clayton, Brody and Conley.
