The West Texas A&M Buffalos played poor host to the NMHU Cowboys as they drubbed the Cowboys 92-65 on 12/29 in Canyon, Texas. The 27 point loss is the second worst loss the Cowboys have had during the
Joe Harge era; the Cowboys worst loss under Harge was an 87-57 loss in the 2008 season against Metro State College. The Cowboys are now 7-4 on the season and will return to RMAC play on 1/8 when they take on Colorado Christian University in Lakewood, Colo.
The Cowboys struggled as a whole throughout the game as the Cowboys shot season lows from the field (32.8%) and from three-point land (15%). The Cowboys led in the opening minutes of the game but after the 18:25 mark the Cowboys let go of the lead and would never see it again as the WTAMU Buffs would hold the lead throughout the game en route to the 92-65 win.
The lone Cowboy in double digits for the night was
Roman Andrade. Andrade finished the night with a game high 31 points. Andrade also added in two rebounds, three assists and three steals in his performance.
The Cowboys will return to RMAC play on 1/8 when they take on the Cougars of Colorado Christian University in Lakewood, Colo. Tip-off is set for 8:00pm.
