The New Mexico Highlands University Cowboys tasted defeat for the second night in a row on 12/5 when they lost to the Eagles of Chadron State College by a final score of 104-87. That loss brings the Cowboys to 5-3 on the season and 0-2 in RMAC play. The Cowboys look to get back on track when they face the Mountain Lions of the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs on 12/11 at 8:00pm in the John A. Wilson Complex in Las Vegas, N.M.
The Cowboys never held a lead against the Eagles in the game. The Cowboys struggled from the field as they finished the night shooting 41.1% from the floor and 28.6% from the three-point line. The Cowboys did shoot well from the free throw line as they finished shooting 85.4% for the night.
Roman Andrade led the Cowboys in scoring with 30 points. Andrade added in two assists, two rebounds and two steals.
Chop Tang was the only other Cowboy in double figures as he finished the night with 21 points, three rebounds and one assist.
The Cowboys will take the court again on 12/11 when they take on the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs Mountain Lions at 8:00pm in the John A. Wilson Complex in Las Vegas, N.M.
