The Cowgirl Volleyball team hosted two RMAC games as they played their final games on their home court. The Cowgirls also honored their seniors,
Whitney Taylor and
Colleen Chauncey as they played their last home games as Cowgirls.
First up for the Cowgirls were the Mesa State Mavericks. The Cowgirls had one of their best showings at home this year but weren't able to come out with the win. The Mavericks are the top team in the West Division of the RMAC. The Mavericks won in three sets with scores of 25-22, 25-23 and 25-18.
Darian Mullen led the Cowgirls with seven kills and three aces.
Ashley Nugent also had seven kills on the night. Taylor had 24 sets during the match while
Danielle Schaal had nine digs.
Next up for the Cowgirls were the Fort Lewis Skyhawks, the number three team in the West Division. The Skyhawks took the match in three sets with scores of 25-13, 25-16 and 25-12. The seniors led their team through the game.
Chauncey led the Cowgirls with eight kills and a block. Nugent was close behind with six kills. Taylor accounted for 16 assists for the Cowgirls.
The Cowgirls will now take to the road for their last two games of the season. They will first play the CSU-Pueblo ThunderWolves on 11/5 followed by the Western State Mountaineers on 11/6.
