The NMHU Cowboys got their third straight win of the season on 11/29 as they grounded the Eagles of Northern New Mexico College by a final score of 86-73. This would be the final non-conference game for the Cowboys until the winter break. The Cowboys will start Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play on 12/3 as they host the nationally ranked #11 Roadrunners of Metro State College at 8:00 pm.
The Cowboys would struggle early with the Eagles as they would trail at halftime 35-32. The Cowboys would come out in the second half and hit 19 of 39 field goals to take the lead and never look back as the Cowboys would lead by as much as 20 in the second half en route to their 86-73 win. With the win, the Cowboys will enter RMAC play with a 3-0 record.
Thomas Manzano would lead all scorers as he finished the night with 27 points. Manzano would add in five rebounds, one assist, one blocked shot and one steal for his game totals.
Ledreece Smith would be the only other Cowboys in double figures as he would finish the night with 10 points, five rebounds, two assists, one blocked shot and one steal for the game.
The Cowboys will hit the hardwood again on their home court on 12/3 when they take on the Roadrunners of Metro State College in Las Vegas, N.M. in the John A. Wilson Complex.
