Cowboys Fall to Western New Mexico 38-13

The NMHU Cowboys lost the battle for the Warrior Helmet on 11/6 as they fell to the Mustangs of Western New Mexico by a final score of 38-13. This is the third win for the Mustangs in the young rivalry games series. WNMU leads the series 3-1 after the win tonight. The Cowboys will gear up this week for their final game of the 2010 season as they take on the Skyhawks of Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colo. on 11/13.

Offensively, the Cowboys finished the day with 187 total yards (48 yards rushing and 139 in the air). Robbie Armijo finished the day completing 16 of 39 passes for 139 yards. Armijo was intercepted twice by the Mustangs. Kevon Williams finished with seven catches for 81 yards and a long completion of 25 yards.

Defensively, the Cowboys allowed 341 yards by the Mustangs. The Mustangs gained 184 yards on the ground and 157 yards in the air. Kenny Shanahan led the Cowboys with 10 tackles and one interception with an interception return of 30 yards.

The Cowboys will take the field for the final time in the 2010 season on the road on 11/6. The Cowboys will hit the highway and travel to Durango, Colo. to take on the Skyhawks of Fort Lewis College.
