The Cowgirl Volleyball team ended their 2010 campaign on a positive note as their season came to an end on 11/6. The Cowgirls played two RMAC games on the road and came back winning three sets of the nine they played.
First up for the Cowgirls were the CSU-Pueblo ThunderWolves. The ThunderWolves took the first two sets with scores of 25-17 and 25-21. In the third set it was the Cowgirls who came away with the win after a 25-22 final score of the third set. The last set would be déjà vu as the ThunderWolves took it 25-17 again.
Leading the Cowgirls was
Darian Mullen with nine kills, an ace and a pair of blocks on the night.
Brook Tuttle registered seven kills with an ace and a pair of blocks.
Whitney Taylor had 29 assists on the night.
Next up for the Cowgirls were the Western State College Mountaineers. The Mountaineers did the same thing the ThunderWolves did the night before and took the first two sets with scores of 25-22 and 25-16. The Cowgirls answered back with wins in the next two sets 25-23 and 28-26. The Mountaineers took the match with their 15-7 win in the fifth set.
The Cowgirls had the top two kill leaders of the night.
Sarah Dirmeyer had 19 kills with two aces and seven blocks on the night. Mullen was close behind with 17 kills and a block. The closest Mountaineer had 17 kills on the night. Taylor registered 49 assists on the night as well.
The Cowgirls' season has come to an end with a final record of 4-24 overall.
