The NMHU Cowboys ran through the Rangers of Regis University by a final score of 70-52 on 12/4. With the win, the Cowboys improve to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in RMAC play. The Cowboys will take their show on the road in the upcoming week as the Cowboys travel to Gunnison, Colo. and Grand Junction, Colo. to take on RMAC foes Western State College and Mesa State College on 12/10 and 12/11.
“Regis is a very well coached team, and it's hard to play teams as deliberate as Regis. I'm very proud of our guys. It's a great start, but we have a long way to go and need to continue to improve every day,” commented NMHU Head Coach Joe Harge following his Cowboys 70-52 win over Regis University on 12/4.
The Cowboys jumped on the Rangers early 9-0 as they would hold the Rangers scoreless for the first five minutes of the game. The Cowboys would lead by as much as 21 points throughout the night. The Cowboys would finish the game shooting 46% from the field, 44% from three point land and 68% from the free throw line.
Thomas Manzano would lead the all scorers for the night with 23 points in 29 minutes played. Manzano would add in five rebounds, two assists, two blocked shots and one steal in his night's performance.
Mindaugas Markevicius would be the only other Cowboy in double figures as he finished with 16 points on the night along with two rebounds.
The Cowboys will hit the road to take on their next opponent as they travel to Gunnison, Colo. to take on the Mountaineers of Western State College on 12/10. Tip-off is set for 8:00 pm.
