The Cowboy Wrestling team took on two RAMC competitors this week but came out 0-2 on the weekend. The Cowboys' efforts were lead by seniors
Seth Wright and
Jesse Boggs.
First up for the Cowboys was the #9 University of Nebraska- Kearney Lopers on 2/11 in the John A. Wilson Complex. The Lopers came away with the victory with a team score of 34-9.
The Cowboys' efforts were lead a trio of their seniors.

Seth Wright and
Nicholas Sanchez were the only Cowboys to post wins on the night. Boggs got his win in overtime after the score was 1-1 and he only had 57 seconds of riding time. Boggs earned a two point take down to earn the victory over Ben Hohensee.
Next up on the Cowboys' lineup was #1 ranked
Seth Wright. After the second period he was up 5-0 and took that lead and ran with it. Wright finished with a final score of 8-1 and 4:31 of riding time.
The Cowboys lost the next three bouts, one by pin, one major decision and one decision. Nick Sanchez was up next for the Cowboys and battled throughout the entire match. Sanchez led the entire match and then won with a score of 6-4.
The Cowboys travelled to Chadron, Nebraska on 2/14 to take on the Eagles. The Eagles eventually gave the Cowboys another loss with a final score of 28-13.
The Cowboys started out with losses at the 174, 184 and 197 weight classes by two pins and one forfeit. The Cowboys' big man, Boggs, stepped up and won by decision with a score of 6-3.
Wright followed suit after Boggs and earned a win with a major decision of 13-5. The Cowboys weren't able to keep it going as they lost the 133 bout by a major decision.
The next two bouts would serve well for Cowboys as they earned what would be their final victories of the night.
Daniel Perales earned his first victory of the season after winning 7-1.
Trey Saxon won by a 8-6 decision.
The Cowboys will play host to RMAC foe Western State College on 2/17 at the John A. Wilson Complex at 7pm. This will be the last time to catch the Cowboys in action at home for the season. Seniors Wright, Boggs and Sanchez will be on their home mat for the last time so come support them as we honor our seniors and their accomplishments.
