The NMHU Cowboys fell in the first round of the NCAA Central Regional Tournament to the Vikings of Augustana College by a final score of 87-73. The Cowboys started out on fire as they ran with the Vikings for the first minutes of the ball game but would not be able to keep up as the Vikings sharpshooters racked up the points, helping them advance to the semi-finals. The Cowboys finish the season with a final record of 20-11.
The Cowboys have set many records in the 200-910 season as they reached the RMAC Shootout Championship game as well as qualified for the NCAA Central Regional for the first time in NMHU history. The 2009-10 season also makes the first back-to-back 20 win seasons for the Cowboys in several years.
