The NMHU Cowboys fell in the RMAC Championship game on 3/6 in Pueblo, Colo. to the Roadrunners of Metro State College by a final score of 83-79. The Cowboys are now 20-10 on the season and 12-7 in RMAC play. The Cowboys will now wait and see where they are placed amongst the region's best in the 2010 NCAA Central Region Tournament. The NCAA DII Tournament selection show will be available online on ncaa.com.
The Cowboys would lead most of the game as they seemed to have found an answer to the Roadrunners press, but the Cowboys would fall short late in the second half as the defending RMAC Shootout champs found a way to take the lead in the final minute of the game. The Cowboys would fall into foul trouble late in the second half, opening the door for Metro State to step back into the game after trailing by as much as 19 points in the second half.
The NMHU Cowboys will find out their next opponent in the NCAA Central Regional held in Mankato, Minn. on 3/13 during the NCAA DII selection show on 3/7.
