The Cowgirls Volleyball team took to the road this past week for two RMAC match ups. The Cowgirls weren't able to come back with a victory but came close.
First up for the Cowgirls were the Western New Mexico University Mustangs, the Cowgirls' in-state foe. The Mustangs handled the Cowgirls in three quick sets with scores of 25-18, 25-15 and 25-19.
Leading the Cowgirls were
Darian Mullen and
Colleen Chauncey with six kills and a pair of blocks each.
Tirisha Dirmeyer had 12 digs on the night, to help out the Cowgirls.
The Cowgirls then went to Santa Fe, NM to play a neutral site game against the Adams State Grizzlies. The Cowgirls took the Grizzlies to five sets but weren't able to come through with the win. The scores were 25-20 (ASC), 25-20 (NMHU), 25-13 (ASC), 23-25 (NMHU), and 17-15 (ASC).
True Freshman
Jazmine Harge led the Cowgirls' efforts with 11 kills and four blocks on the night.
Ashley Nugent also had 11 kills on the night.
The Cowgirls will now travel to Fort Lewis College on 10/1 to take on the Skyhawks followed by the Mesa State Mavericks on 10/2.
