The NMHU Cowboys got their second win in as many games on 1/15 as they ran through the Lopers of the University of Nebraska-Kearney by a final score of 86-72. The Cowboys would dominate throughout the entire game as they would lead by as many as 22 points in their rout of UNK. The Cowboys win over the Lopers is the first win the Cowboys have posted over UNK during the Coach Joe Harge era. With the win, the Cowboys improve to 12-4 on the season and 8-4 in RMAC play.
Momcilo Latinovic would lead all scorers with 21 points on the night. Latinovic would add seven rebounds, one assist, one blocked shot and one steal to his nights totals.
Thomas Manzano would finish the night with 16 points, three rebounds, and two steals for the game.
Chris Newsome would round out the top scorers for the Cowboys with 12 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals for the night.
As a team, the Cowboys would dominate on the rebounds as they would pull down 53 rebounds on the night (22 offensive and 31 defensive) as compared to the Lopers 33 rebounds. The Cowboys defense would cause havoc for the Lopers as they would force 13 Loper turnovers. The Cowboys would also tally five blocked shots and five steals on the night.
