Cowboys Cage Cougars 79-62

The NMHU Cowboys got back on track on 1/3 as they made short work of the Colorado Christian Cougars by a final score of 79-62 in Lakewood, Colo. The Cowboys had fallen to Orediggers of the Colorado School of Mines on 1/2 by a final score of 95-76 in the first leg of their two game road swing. The Cowboys would finish with two players in double digits on the night en route to their tenth win of the season. With the win, the Cowboys are now 10-2 on the season and 6-2 in RMAC play.

The Cowboys had an impressive night defensively as they racked up nine rebounds and nine blocked shots as a team on the night. Four of the nine blocked shots belonged to the RMAC blocked shots leader Derek Freeman. Freeman has 24 blocked shots on the season. The Cowboys would finish the night shooting 45% from the field and 62% from the free throw line in the win.

Thomas Manzano would lead all scorers for the night with 27 points on the night. Manzano would add five rebounds, one assist, one blocked shot and one steal to his nights totals. Momcilo Latinovic end the night with his first double-double of the season as he pulled down 11 rebounds and scored 21 points on the night. Latinovic would add one assist, one blocked shot and two steals to his nights totals. Rounding out the Cowboys top three would be Mindaugas Markevicius. Markevicius finish with nine points, three rebounds and one steal.

The Cowboys will be on the road again as they travel to Durango, Colo. to take on the Skyhawks of Fort Lewis College on 1/7. Tip-off is set for 5:30 pm.
