Cowboys Drop Rangers 84-75

Box Score The NMHU Cowboys bounced back on 12/3 with an 84-75 win over the Rangers of Regis University in Denver, Colo. The Cowboys would finish the game shooting 56% from the field and an impressive 43% from the three point line in their first RMAC victory of the season. The Rangers would score the first points of the game, but after that it was all Cowboys as NMHU never trailed from that point on. The Cowboys would go into the halftime break with a 44-34 lead. After the break, the Cowboys would continue to lead throughout as they would lead by as much as 17 in the game en route to their first RMAC win of the season with the 84-75 victory. With the win, the Cowboys improve to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in RMAC play. The Cowboys will return home to the John A. Wilson Complex in Las Vegas, N.M. to take on the Mountaineers of Western State College on 12/9.

“Tonight was a good win for us. I'm happy with how our guys responded after last night's loss. Regis is a tough team and coming out of here with the win is a great feeling. Now we have to focus on our next opponent and clean up some mistakes”, commented NMHU Head Coach Joe Harge following his Cowboys 84-75 win over Regis University on 12/3.

Momcilo Latinovic, Billy Austin, Aaryon Williams and Marcus Williams all finished the night scoring in double figures for the Cowboys. Latinovic finished the night with a team high 16 points. Latinovic would add in two rebounds, one assist and one steal to his stat line for the night. Austin finished the night with 15 points, five rebounds, four assists and one steal. Aaryon Williams scored 13 points on the night with five rebounds and one steal. Marcus Williams would round out the top NMHU performers with 11 points, two rebounds, three assists and one steal.

The Cowboys will hit the hardwood again on 12/9 as they host the Mountaineers of Western State College in the John A. Wilson Complex.
