Box Score The Cowboys three-game winning streak came to a halt on 1/13 with an 87-75 loss to the Eagles of Chadron State College in Chadron, Neb.
The first half was a battle until 21-20 when Chadron started opening their lead. Chadron went on a nine-point tear that kept the Cowboys down going into the half. Highlands made a run to catch up, but they trailed at the half 40-28.
Both teams scored 47 points in the second half, but Highlands could not overcome their first half deficit. The Cowboys trailed the entire second half and came to within four points of tying the game.
Highlands hit 50.9% from the field and 63.6% from the free-throw line. Three Cowboys,
Aaryon Williams,
Ryan Gonzales and
Billy Austin, had 12 points each, while
Mike Moody,
Marquis Whitt and
Ryan Gonzales had a block each.
Aaryon Williams went five for nine from the floor and
Billy Austin had four steals.
Ryan Gonzales would lead the Cowboys in rebounds with five.
