Box Score The NMHU Cowboys fell to the Eagles of Chadron State by a final score of 36-33 on 10/20. The Pokes and the Eagles battled to the very last second as it would take a CSC touchdown with 36 second left to put the Eagles in front of the Cowboys for good. With the loss the Cowboys are now 6-2 overall and 5-1 in RMAC play. The Cowboys are now tied for second in the RMAC with Chadron State.
Emmanuel Lewis led the offensively completing 32 of 54 passes for 332 yards. Lewis also led the Pokes in rushing with 52 yards on 15 carries. As a whole, the Cowboys tallied 403 yards (332 passing and 71 yards rushing).
The Cowboy defense finished the game allowing 439 yards. The Pokes slowed down the Chadron running game allowing just 86 yards on 31 carries, but the Eagles would get it done in the air completing 36 of 59 passes for 353 yards.
Jordan Campbell,
Jared Koster and
Abdul Kanneh led the Cowboys defensively.
Campbell finished the day with 19 tackles, one tackle for a loss of two yards and two quarterback hurries.
Koster had his third straight double digit tackle game with 11 tackles for the game. Koster added in one pass break-up to his totals.
Kanneh rounds out the top three with eight tackles two tackles for a loss of 13 yards and a season high four pass break-ups.
The Cowboys hit the road to take on their next opponent as they travel to Spearfish, South Dakota to take on the Yellow Jackets of Black Hills State University on 10/27. Kick-off is set for 1:00 p.m.
