Box Score 2 The Cowgirls finished up the 2012 Holiday Inn Express and Suites Classic Volleyball Tournament in Denton, Texas, on Saturday night, 9/1. The Texas Western University Pioneers and the University of Arkansas-Monticello stood in the Cowgirls way to conclude the weekend tournament.

In the first game of the night, the Cowgirls fought with a lot of heart against the TWU Pioneers and had some stand out performances by
Marina Samoa and by
Darian Mullen.
Marina Samoa led the way with nine kills, and eight digs.
Darian Mullen added eight digs and five kills. A valiant team effort by the Cowgirls gave the Pioneers a run for their money in all three sets of match play, but the Cowgirls ended up losing in three straight sets (23-25, 16-25, 19-25). The Cowgirls would continue to strive to be a top competitor in The 2012 Holiday Inn Express and Suites Classic Volleyball Tournament.
New Mexico Highlands 3, University of Arkansas- Monticello 1
The second game of the two-day 2012 Holiday Inn Express and Suites Classic Volleyball Tournament was more to the Cowgirls style. They won three sets of a four set match winning 25-23 dropping the next set 22-25. After splitting the first two sets with the University of Arkansas- Monticello the Cowgirls never took their foot off the gas, grabbing the next two consecutive sets (25-19, 25-21).
The Cowgirls Volleyball Team will continue to march forward and improve under first-year Head Coach
