Cowgirls Fight Strong Against #25 Adams State

Box Score Las Vegas N.M. - Tonight's match up against NCAA DII 25th ranked Adams State Grizzles 4-0 in the RMAC and 11-1 overall, 9/22, was a major test for the Cowgirls 2-2 in the RMAC and 6-7 to see where they stand in the West Division of the  Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The Cowgirls gave a fearless effort but landed up getting swept in three sets (25-19, 25-18, and 25-20).

The Adams State Grizzles jumped out to an early four point advantage in the first set 2-6. NMHU had an impressive surge getting within a point 8-9 but ASU showed why they were the 25th ranked team in DII winning the set 25-19.

In the second set the Cowgirls battled to a 8-8 tie until the Grizzles came back with a surge of their own running off with a four point lead 20-16 and eventually winning the set 25-18. The Cowgirls had a difficult time playing catch up against 25th DII ranked ASU. Never getting back into striking distance in the second set the Cowgirls looked to improve in the next set.

The third set for the Cowgirls showed how tough they can be making the Grizzles work for every point they earned. Tied at 14 apiece, Adams State came out and dominated the rest of the match striking off a two point cushion that the Cowgirls could not come back after giving a bold effort, losing the set 25-20.
