Cowboys Wrestlers are Ready to Clash against the Mavericks of Colo. Mesa

Igor Gomzin looks to improve to 3-1 in RMAC duals this season.
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - The New Mexico Highlands University Cowboy wrestling team (3-2, 1-2 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) will compete against the 18th-ranked Mavericks of Colorado Mesa University on Jan 24 at 7 p.m.  The Mavericks won against the  Eagles of Chadron State by the final score of 21-19, on Jan 23.

The Cowboys are looking to rebound from their dual match loss against Adams State. The Cowboys Upper Weights are showing great veteran leadership. Starting from junior Easton Hargrave at 174, he is 3-0 in duals matches in the conference. Senior 184-pounder Igor Gomzin is now 2-1 in conference. Junior Justin Rockhill at 197 is also 2-1 in conference.

Sophomore 125-pounder Erick Rangel and redshirt Juan Alvarado at 165 both will be searching for victories after both losing last night against Adams State.

The Mavericks are led by a pair of nationally ranked wrestlers, James Martinez at 149, is ranked second in the NCAA Division II Individual Rankings. Chester Granard  at 174, is ranked seventh in the NCAA Division II Individual Rankings.
