Soccer Battles to Scoreless Draw with #4 Colorado School of Mines

LAS VEGAS, N.M. – In a game that was about as even as a game could be, the New Mexico Highlands soccer team (4-3-2, 1-2-2 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) battled to a scoreless draw with #4 Colorado School of Mines (7-0-2, 4-0-1 RMAC) Friday night under the lights at the Wilson Complex.

New Mexico Highlands was able to outshoot the Orediggers 14-10 in total shots, both teams had four shots on goal and four saves.

In a physical game that saw 27 fouls and two yellow cards, the Cowgirls had the best chance of the game to win. In the 27th minute, a ball found Highlands down the right side. However, Highlands senior Alyssa Saucedo was whistled for being offside.

Freshman Mallory Bostic and junior Crystal Schuder managed a pair of shots on goal while freshman goalie Sarah Beecher grabbed four saves and is 4-3-2 in goal.

Jayln Yates – who has only surrendered four goals all season – recorded four saves to go to 7-0-2 between the posts this season.

Both teams only managed one shot in the extra sessions, including none in the second overtime.
