Cowboy Wrestling prepare to face the Falcons of Air Force Academy

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -  The New Mexico Highlands wrestling team (5-5, 2-4 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) will compete in a dual meet against an NCAA Division I opponent, the Falcons of  United States of America Air Force Academy on Friday evening  (Feb. 14) at 5 p.m.

This will be the Cowboys last dual of the season before they enter regionals later this month (Feb. 28-March 1) at Colorado Mesa University.


A brief look into the Cowboy Charge

Sophomore Erick Rangel at 125 pounds and redshirt Juan Alvarado are looking to rebound after a loss against CSU-Pueblo. Both Rangel and Alvarado are the only two Cowboy wrestlers with 20 victories this season. Rangel is 22-6 and Alvarado is 20-7.

A brief look into the Falcons of Air Force Academy

The Falcons lost their last dual against University of Wyoming by the final score 28-14. They are led by Josh Martinez at 125 pounds. His record is 28-2.

The Falcons are 8-5 and 0-2 in the Western Wrestling Conference.
