COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The New Mexico Highlands wrestling team (5-6) traveled to Colorado Springs, Colo., Friday night (Feb. 14) and lost to Air Force (9-6), 41-0.
Beginning at 197, the Falcons took advantage of a non-starter at the weight class as redshirt freshman
Luis Terrazas was pinned by Robert Isley in the first period.
Air Force added first period pins at 133 and 174.
The closest match of the night came at heavyweight as sophomore
Cody Marquez fell to Cody Davis, 5-3. Redshirt freshman
Jesse Martinez fell 9-5 at 157 while redshirt sophomore
Juan Alvarado fell 4-1 at 165.
Senior
Igor Gomzin, in his final regular season dual of his collegiate career, fell to Devin Hightower by a 3-1 decision.
The New Mexico Highlands wrestling team returns to action on Feb. 28 in the NCAA Division II Super Region.
