DENVER AND COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. – The Highlands Volleyball Team (6-12, 2-7 RMAC) head north to face conference opponents, Metropolitan State (10-8, 7-2 RMAC) and University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (12-6, 7-2 RMAC).
The Cowgirls had a strong game against Adams State University to end this past weekend on a high note. The girls had a strong game, scoring late in sets and taking advantage of the oppositions mistakes to win the match in four sets. Leading the team was
Kristin Woody with 15 kills and 2 aces. Assisting her, with 25 assists, was
Tarissa Mellin.
Scouting Metro State Metro State has had a strong season as they have won 7of their 9 conference games. They are an offensive team as they are ranked top four in most offensive categories in the RMAC.
The Roadrunners currently are on a hot streak as they are on a 7 game winning streak. Although they are doing well, they have struggled at home with a 4-3 record.
Scouting #21 University of Colorado at Colorado Springs The Mines are going to be another tough opponent for the Cowgirls. The Mines are another top offensive team in the RMAC.
They have been dominant in conference, only losing to #21 Colorado Mines and Colorado Mesa. Similar to Metro State, most of the Mountain Lions' losses have come at home.
The Cowgirls play Metro State Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. and University of Colorado at Colorado Springs Oct. 17 at 5 p.m. Live stats and video will be avaiable.
