Box Score LAS VEGAS, N.M. – The Cowgirls fought hard but lost a tough match against Regis University in four sets (17-25, 25-23, 22-25, 22-25). Despite a strong showing by 
Andrea Nunez (14 kills, 11 digs), the Cowgirls could not make a comeback in the last set to take it to five. 
In the first set, errors and an inability to score on kills (8 errors, 6 kills) prevented the Cowgirls from winning the set. Both teams came out cold as both had two errors. Both teams would warm up but neither team would get a big run, as they would be tied at 14-14. The Rangers would have three-point run to get the lead. The Cowgirls would only score three more points in the set, as the Rangers would take the set 25-17. 
Second set started better for the Cowgirls as they would have a 4-1 lead. The Rangers would score the next six points to get the lead. After the score was 8-7 Rangers, the Rangers would start building their lead. They would get the lead up to seven as they were up 18-11. 
The Cowgirls would call a timeout and jump start their pursuit for the set soon after. Kills by 
Caroline Hansen and errors from the Rangers would help the Cowgirls get back in striking distance, as the score was now 19-17 Rangers. The Rangers would pull score the next two points to have a four-point lead but the Cowgirls were determined to win the set. Kills by 
Kendall Buchman, and Nunez would keep the girls in it. After a point by the Rangers, the Cowgirls would turn it on. Kills by Nunez, and Hansen would help the Cowgirls win the last five points and win the set in thrilling fashion (25-23). 
In the third set, the Cowgirls would again be down, as the Rangers would go up 12-6. The girls would manage to cut the deficit by two but the Rangers would quickly score and keep the girls at bay to have 21-16 lead. The Cowgirls would use three kills and 2 ranger errors to bring the score to 23-21 Rangers. Despite their push at the end, the Rangers would take the set with two kills. 
Fourth set was similar as the Cowgirls would be down 12-6 to start the set. The Rangers would dominate and build a big lead to bring the score to 17-7 Rangers. The Cowgirls again would show their perseverance and show they still had a chance no matter how big the deficit. Both teams would trade blows and the Rangers would be up 23-13 when the Cowgirls would begin to make the Rangers panic. 
With 
Tarissa Mellin serving, the Cowgirls would use good play and fight to go on a 9-0 run. Leading the way was Nunez with 3 kills and 
Katie Trammel with 2 kills during the run. The Cowgirls would comeback and be down one point 23-22 to the Rangers. Despite their strong play at the end, the Rangers would get a kill and get a tough call to win the last two points and the match.
The Cowgirls will be hosting their last home game of the season and their Senior Day tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 24 at 5 p.m. against Chadron State. Live stats and video will be available. Streaming service might starts late due quick turn around time with football.
