Box Score GOLDEN, COLO. – The New Mexico Highlands Volleyball Team was outmatched by #18 Colorado School of Mines as they fell in straight sets (10-25, 11-25, 12-25). The Orediggers showed their dominance as they had 14 block assists and 45 kills in three sets.
In all three sets, the Cowgirls struggled against stopping the Orediggers, as the Orediggers would go on big runs to build big leads that the Cowgirls could not come back from.
In the first set, would be in striking distance to start the set. After the Cowgirls being down 5-7, the Orediggers would go on a 7-point run. The lead was too big as the Cowgirls could not cut into the lead and lose the first set, 10-25.
Second set was no different, as the Orediggers would go on a 9-point run to start their scoring. The Cowgirls would struggle getting their offense going and only have six kills in the set as they fell 11-25 in the set.
The Cowgirls would go down early in the third set after another 9-point run by the Orediggers. The Cowgirls would be unsuccessful and lose the set and the match to the Orediggers.
The Cowgirls go on the road next weekend as they face Adams State University and Fort Lewis College, on November 6
th and 7
th.
