Box Score ALAMOSA, COLO. – The New Mexico Highlands Volleyball team fell to Adams State as the Grizzles found a way to win in straight sets (21-25, 21-25, 23-25).
In the first set, the Grizzlies managed to get a lead early that they would never give up. The Cowgirls would cut the deficit to one with kills by
Andrea Nunez, and Shayli Schultz 11-10. Despite the hard work to cut the deficit, the Grizzlies would keep on attacking and win the first set 25-21.
In the second set, both teams would compete and have several ties until kills by Nunez and
Katie Trammel broke the tie with two kills to go up 13-11. The Cowgirls would continue the lead until they were up 20-16. The Grizzlies would then begin their strike and go on a 5-1 run lead. The Grizzlies would continue scoring and win the set 25-21.
In the third set, the Cowgirls would go down early, as the Grizzlies would score the first five points. The Cowgirls would fight back and tie the game at 10. From there, both teams would trade points until the Grizzlies would go on a late set push to get the lead and the win the final set 25-23
The Cowgirls return to action Saturday, Nov. 7 at 5p.m. at Fort Lewis College. Live stats and video will be avaiable.
