Box Score LAS VEGAS, N.M.- The Cowboys triumphed over the Thunder wolves 93-87. They remain undefeated in conference as they are now 3-0.
Jonathon Mines led the team with 22 points, his third straight 20 plus scoring performance. It was a hard fought battle but clean play in the first half helped get the Cowboys build their lead that the carried to the end.
Game started off close as both teams kept trading baskets and the lead. With 12:07 on the clock in the first half, the score would be tied at 20-20.
A three pointer from
Kendrick Nichols and a dunk from
Marlon Johnson would break the tie. The Cowboys would keep the lead and Mines would finish the half with a 3 to take the boys into the locker rooms with 47-36 lead.
Cowboys would face more pressure in the second half as the ThunderWolves played full court trap defense immediately. The Cowboys play got sloppy due to the pressure, but they still maintained the lead.
With just 1:33 left in the game the boys lead would be 89-85. Thunder Wolves would make a last push but the Cowboys made enough free throws down the stretch to secure the win.
