Cowgirls Battle but fall in four sets

Box Score Cowgirls battle but fall in four sets

CSUP beats NMHU 3-1

The New Mexico Highlands Cowgirls battled Colorado State University-Pueblo on Saturday Night but fell short losing to the Thunderwolves in four sets.

Your Cowgirls challenged CSUP throughout the first three sets, as they collected 47 of their 53 total kills in those sets.

The game started very competitive with neither team amounting to more than a 4 point lead. Although Highlands used timeouts to disrupt CSUP's momentum, the Thunderwolves stayed on top and won the set 25-21.

Second set was the same as the first except this time your Cowgirls rallied at the end to win the set 25-21.

Being tied 1-1, both teams competed throughout the third set. No team could get a big rally causing a back and forth set. They ended up tying 24-24 at the end but the Thunderwolves scored the next two points to win the set.

In the fourth set, the Cowgirls came out slow and could never gain any momentum to come back losing 25-16.

The Cowgirls fall to (1-1) in conference and (3-5) overall. They look to bounce back at home, Tuesday, September 22 5 p.m. against Western New Mexico University.
