Exciting Two Point Win For Cowboys

Box Score LAS VEGAS, N.M.- After falling to Colorado Christian the day before, the Cowboys came out and got the win against #24 Colorado Mines 70-68. Marlon Johnson had a monstrous game as he had 33 points and 9 rebounds.
 
The game was a nail biter from beginning to end. With 13:16 in the half, the Cowboys would be up 14-7 after a layup by Andre Hardy. Colorado Mines would be persistent and tie the game up at 18-18. Both teams would continue to score and tie the game multiple times. With :56 left in the half, Colorado Mines would get a six-point lead. The Cowboys would cut their rhythm with a Kendrick Nichols three pointer and bring the score to 42-39 Colorado Mines.  Colorado Mines would drain a three pointer and go into the locker room up 45-39.
 
The second half was no different as both teams kept trading blows. Both teams are top in the RMAC and each team was striving to see who was top dog.
 
After a dunk by Marlon Johnson, the Cowboys would only be down 52-49 with 15 minutes left in the game. Later on Johnson would drain a three pointer to cut the deficit to one to bring the score to 59-58 Colorado Mines.
 
With 2:45 left, the Cowboys were up 65-64. Ron Lawton and Johnson would then score the next four points to give the Cowboys the lead.
 
Colorado Mines would follow up to score the next three points to only be down one with 11 seconds left. With the pressure on the Cowboys to keep the lead, Ron Lawton would make a free throw that would give the Cowboys the 2-point lead. Colorado Mines would have no more time and the Cowboys would take down ranked Colorado Mines.
