Cowboys take care of Grizzles 100-91

Box Score ALAMOSA, COLO.- With another strong performance by the Cowboys, they maintain their conference lead with a 100-91 win against Adams State. Kendrick Nichols, Jonathon Mines, and Marlon Johnson had amazing performances. They combined for 80 of the Cowboys 100 points.
 
The Cowboys had an impressive shooting performance last game and they improved tonight by shooting 57.9% from the field.
 
After a dunk by Kaylen Shane, the Cowboys would be up 10-7 with 14 minutes in the half. Adams State would go on a strong run to be down by one with 9:50 on the clock. The Cowboys would go push to have a dominant first half and go into the half with a 33-26 lead.
 
The second half was a high scoring half as the Cowboys would outscored the Adams State 67-65.
 
Adams State would cut the deficit to 4 after 2 minutes in play. Nichols would drain a three pointer to get the Cowboys a double digit lead. Both teams would put on a display of shooting and missed shots would become rare.
 
The Cowboys would be resilient and counter each of the Grizzlies' attacks. As the game approached the end of period, the Cowboys would begin to get fouled. Clutch free throws would help the Cowboys maintain their lead and win 100-91.
