Cowgirls fall short to the Roadrunners

Denver, Colorado- New Mexico Highlands Women's Volleyball team fall to Metropolitan State University in tonight's (Oct. 1) match. The Cowgirls stumble to an overall record 5-6 and 2-4 RMAC.
 
First Set:
The cowgirls were determined to get the win after they lost Friday night to Colorado Springs 3-1. Senior Jasmine Dixon had an outstanding kill to start off the set.  But the  roadrunners rallied back and came close to taking the set, until senior Caroline Hanson got the kill to bringing them to a three point lead (11-8). With a few attack errors by the roadrunners the cowgirls had a six-point lead. (20-14). The roadrunners were not done yet, with back to back ace from Michaela Smith they came within three. As the Cowgirls battle it out to the end, Dixon got the last kill to give them the first set (25-21).
 
Second Set:
As the second set takes off, Freshman Brianna Montano helped her team take the lead as she rallies up a kill and an ace (2-0). As the game went on the cowgirls battled each point and kept the set very intense. After a three-point lead by the roadrunners the cowgirls called a timeout (11-14).  Caroline Hanson did not give up and had an exquisite kill to help the Cowgirls get back in the match (12-14) The Lady Roadrunners started expanding their lead and took the set (17-25).
 
Third Set:
Once again Brianna Montano came out on fire as Junior Shayli Schulz assisted her to a kill.  Freshman Sierra Foley had her first kill of the night and kept the team fighting strong. (7-5). With a few attack errors the cowgirls took a timeout out in order to solve their mistakes (8-11). After back to back serving errors by the roadrunners the cowgirls rallied hard with a serving ace by Caroline Hanson making the score (17-18). But the
Roadrunners came back and won the set (18-25).
 
Fourth Set: The cowgirls started off slow but Hanson and Dixon showed their skills and had several kills, tying the game (9-9). The lady roadrunners came into this set strong and battled every point trying to secure the win, however the cowgirls did not make it easy and forced errors upon the roadrunners, they tied (19-19). After a few attack errors by the cowgirls, the roadrunners went on a 3-0 run to bring the set to (19-22). That did not stop your Cowgirls from fighting back as they rallied up four straight points to bring the match within one. But the Roadrunners took the final point due to a serve error from your Cowgirls.
