Las Vegas, NM- The New Mexico Highlands Women's Soccer team fell to the Metropolitan State University of Denver Roadrunners 2-0. This brings your Cowgirls to 2-7-1 overall, and 2-4 in RMAC.

st Half
The Cowgirls had a difficult time penetrating the tough Roadrunners defense as they only attempted one shot in the first 30 minutes of the game. The Roadrunners were getting good looks at the goal as they had 5 shots on goal during the first half, compared to the Cowgirls 1 shot on goal. NMHU took 4 more shots before the half ended, but were unsuccessful. Five different Cowgirls shot the ball, showing a balanced attack, they just could not find the back of the net. The Roadrunners scored the only goal of the half, bringing the score to 1-0 going into halftime.

nd Half
The Roadrunners came out of the half hot as they scored another goal within the first 6 minutes. The Cowgirls again came out struggling to get shots off as they could not get a clean look at the goal. The Roadrunners shot the ball 15 times, as the Cowgirls shot it only 8 times. Metropolitan State had 9 shots on goal, and NMHU only had 4 shots on goal. Freshmen goalie
Makenna Luster came into the game in the 2
nd half and did not allow a goal. The Cowgirls just could not get the ball rolling as they were shut out, 2-0. They will have to turnaround quickly as they play Regis University on October 9
th at 1:00 p.m.
