Las Vegas, NM- The New Mexico Highlands Women's Volleyball team beat the Fort Lewis Sky Hawks on Senior night, 3-1. Your Cowgirls close their season with a victory, bringing their record to 7-16 overall and 4-14 in RMAC.

First Set: The Cowgirls came out battling as Freshmen
Brianna Montano had two straight aces to put them in front 6-5. They continued to play solid throughout the first set, as Freshmen
Sierra Foley had a monster kill to put her team in front, 14-12. It was Junior
Marissa Hoffman's turn to get herself a kill. She forced a Sky Hawk timeout with Highlands leading, 18-15. Fort Lewis burned another timeout with the Cowgirls going up, 22-17. Senior
Jasmine Dixon finished off the set(25-20), giving the Cowgirls the early 1-0 lead.

Second Set: The Cowgirls earned a quick 6-4 lead before the Sky Hawks went on a run on their own. Highlands took a timeout trailing, 6-8. This helped the Cowgirls as they were able to come back and take the lead at 11-10. Senior
Caroline Hansen came alive and helped them extended their lead to 17-14. The Sky Hawks fought back to take the 18-17 lead, forcing a quick Highlands timeout. The Cowgirls regained the lead for a short amount of time, but they fell and could not get back up as the Sky Hawks finished the set strong, taking it, 25-23.

Third Set: The Sky Hawks flew out to an early 5-2 lead, but the Cowgirls did not flinch. They came back to take a 8-7 lead. They had a lot of fight in them as a Dixon kill forced a Fort Lewis timeout with the score in Highlands favor, 12-8. They extended their lead to 18-12 before the Sky Hawks scored two straight points, triggering a Cowgirls timeout. This catapulted them to take the set at 25-17. Senior
Makeda Pelle was playing well for the Cowgirls as she racked up 8 kills heading into the fourth set.

Fourth Set: The Cowgirls meant business at the start of the fourth. They started out on a 13-6 lead. The Sky Hawks fought back to bring themselves within four at 16-12, forcing a Highlands timeout. The Cowgirls never looked back as a kill by Foley secured the victory on Senior Night, 25-14. Montano finished with a match-high 16 kills. The Cowgirls received huge efforts by their seniors, Dixon, Hansen, and Pelle.
