Las Cruces, NM- The New Mexico Highlands Women's Basketball team dropped tonight's exhibition game against the New Mexico State University Aggies by a score of 37-94. This does not impact the Cowgirls record as they still sit at 1-2 overall.

First Quarter: Junior
Mele Tupouata got the game started off for the Cowgirls with a jumper, but the Aggies answered back with a quick 4-0 run before Sophomore
Brianna Pribble hit a jumper of her own. New Mexico State then took off on a 21-0 run that lasted much of the first quarter.

Second Quarter: The Aggies came out hot and scored 5 unanswered points, then Sophomore
Kaylani Maiava was able to stop the run with a 3 point shot. New Mexico State meant business as they went on another big run, this time it was 13-0. The score at the end of the first half was 47-11, Aggies.

Third Quarter: The Cowgirls came out ready to battle back as they were able to match the Aggies point for point. The two teams were evenly matched throughout most of the quarter. Freshmen
Juliana Gurule was able to bang home two 3 point shots in the quarter for the Cowgirls. They were able to tighten up their play in the third as they were only outscored 15-21.

Fourth Quarter: Going into the last ten minutes of play, the Aggies scored the first 7 points. Then Maiava hit a 3 to halt the run. But the Aggies had an answer for everything they threw at them. Freshmen
Ari Baca had a solid second half, and led the Cowgirls in points with 11.

The Cowgirls will travel to Alamosa, Colorado to tip-off Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play against Adams State University on December 2 at 5:30 pm
