Fort Collins, CO- The New Mexico Highlands Women's Basketball team fell to NCAA Division I opponent, Colorado State University, 31-96. Your Cowgirls fall to 2-6 overall and 1-3 RMAC.

First Quarter: The first four minutes of the game were controlled by the Rams. They jumped out to an early 9-0 lead before Freshman
Juliana Gurule hit a three to halt the run. Another three pointer, this time by Junior
Shania Ratliff, put the Cowgirls back in the game as they only trailed 8-12. The Rams responded by going on a 11-0 run, extending the lead to 23-8.

Second Quarter: The Cowgirls could not stop the Rams from behind the arc as their first five buckets in the quarter were from long range. It took Highlands almost nine minutes to score their first basket of the quarter. It would be Freshman
Ari Baca that would break the ice for her team.

Third Quarter: The Rams opened up the quarter on a 6-0 run, then Ratliff sunk a three pointer to give the Cowgirls some life. They struggled to score until Junior
Kaelin Shaffer hit a layup, bringing the score to 20-68. Baca and Shaffer hit two free throws each to conclude the third quarter.

Fourth Quarter: Junior
Mele Tupouata got the fourth quarter started with a jumper for the Cowgirls. The Rams exploded on a 21-0 run after this, largely using the 3 point shot to pull away. Gurule hit a three of her own to stop the run for a moment.
