GOLDEN and LAKEWOOD, Colo. – After having a strong win against Colorado Mesa last weekend, the Cowboys look to use that momentum to finish the season strong. The Cowboys head north to face Colorado School of Mines on Fri., Feb.12 at 8:00 p.m. and Colorado Christian University on Sat., Feb. 13 at 7:30 p.m. The Cowboys look for some revenge after losing to Colorado Christian in their first meeting. Last Saturday, the Cowboys beat Mesa 99-95.
In that game, the Cowboys kept the Mavericks down as the Mavs' only lead was a one point lead in the first half. In addition, the Cowboys had a good shooting night as they shot 50% from the field and made 16 threes.
Leading the way for the Cowboys was
Ron Lawton with 28 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, 3 steals, and 1 block; followed by
Jonathon Mines with 22 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists.
The Cowboys are currently sitting in 6th place in the conference. Only the top eight teams will make the RMAC Championship. Colorado Mines is currently a game ahead of the Cowboys while the Cougars of Colorado Christian are on the outside looking in tied for ninth.
