Orediggers Knock Down Shots Over Cowboys

Box Score GOLDEN, Colo.- The Cowboys faced RMAC foe Colorado School of Mines in a match up that could great affect playoff standings. The Cowboys would drop the game by a final score of 88-65
 
Both teams came out in the first couple of possession looking to set things up. Jonathon Mines start the game off on the third possession of the game with a three. The Orediggers would then take the next ten points in 3:15 time before a Kaylen Shane dunk would end the run.  
 
After two J. Mines' free throws the Natesan would hit a contested three. Marlon ran the floor and had a nice contested lay-up. The Cowboys left the Schroepfer, a shooter, to knock down a three to make it a 16-9 Colorado Mines lead. At the 10:30 mark the Cowboys would get an offensive rebound after a three that would allow Ruben Macias to knock a shot from downtown to make it a 19-16 Orediggers game. The next four points of the game would be scored at the charity stripe by Natesan. After shooting his ninth free thrown of the game with 7:55 on the clock the Orediggers lead 23-16. He would head back to the line and hit one before Shane hit a lay-up to make it a 24-18 game at the 7:10 mark.
 
Down 28-20 J. Mines knocked down a contested three that would jump start the Cowboy;s offense. Dellenbach would hit a mid-range shot before the Cowboys' Macias hit a three make it a 30-26 game. The Cowboys left a wide open Schroepfer who knocked down the outside shot. Coach Craig Snow then called a timeout to talk to his team.
 
Coming out of the timeout the Cowboys; Logan hit a lay-up to make it a five-point game. J. Mines would draw the foul and knock down two free throws next possession to make it a three-point game. Schroepher would continue his hot streak from behind the arc and put the game back at six points.
 
The Orediggers took advantage of free throws in the first half going 8-11. At the half the Orediggers lead 38-32.
 
After trading baskets to start the first half the Cowboys would foul a three-point shooter, Schroepfer, for the second time in the game. At the stripe he would hit all three to make it a nine-point game. After two Shane free throws Natesan would knock down a three to make it a 46-36 Oredigger lead. The Cowboys would then call a 30 second time out to reset. Coming out of the huddle J. Mines drew the foul, hit the shot, and hit the free throw to make it a 47-39 game.
 
A big Johnson block started a small run for the Cowboys. Macias would hit a nice runner in the lane. A Ron Lawton dunk would make it a 53-45 game. After a technical foul with 13:53 on the clock, the Orediggers would hit two free throw to make it a 55-45 game.
 
Over the next 4:07 the Orediggers would show their scoring ability and go on a 22-4 run to make it a 67-49 game with just under ten minutes left in the game.
 
The Cowboys would try to get back in the game but some cold shooting and fouls would not allow the Cowboys to do so. Over the last ten minutes the Orediggers would out score the Cowboys 21-16 to take the game by a final score of 88-65.
 
The Cowboys will return to action tomorrow night against Colorado Christian. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
