Risky Move Give Wrestling The Victory

GOLDEN, Colo.- The wrestling team wasted no time getting back in the mat in competition as they took on Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colo. tonight. The Cowboys came out hot.
 
Jacob Espana would get the Cowboys going with a 7-0 decision over Lavengood to give the Cowboys the 3-0 team lead. Try Humphrey would then come in and take a technical fall over Au-Yeung by a score of 23-6 in 6:22 to give the Cowboys the 8-0 lead. Dan Gaylor would then take a close match over Torres in a 6-4 decision, which put the Cowboys up bit over Colorado Mines 11-0.
 
The Orediggers would then go a run to make it a dual. Gerken would beat Orlando Guerra in a 14-6 major decision. Then Ruby would beat Christian Luchuga in a 10-2 major decision to cut the Cowboys lead down to 11-8. They would continue their run by winning the 165 weight class by a technical fall of 16-1 in 3:59 to give them the 13-11 lead.
 
The Cowboys would be down 13-11 going into the last four duals. The Cowboys would get three much needed points from J.B. Bechtloff over Michaelson to regain the lead at 14-13. Luis Terrazas would come in clutch as well for the Cowboys as he would get the major decision over Saunders to give the Cowboys the 18-13 lead.
 
The Cowboys would then forfeit the 197 weight class which would give Colorado Mines the 1918 lead going into the 185 weight class. In the 285 weight class coach Doug Moses used Cody Marquez. Marquez would take the 6-3 decision over Cheatum to give the Cowboys the 21-19 win over the Orediggers.
