Box Score Golden, Colo.- New Mexico Highlands Women's Volleyball team faced #18 Colorado School of Mines in tonight's first conference match on Friday September 16 at 7:00 pm. Your Cowgirls fall to a 3-2 overall record and 0-1 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play.
In the first set, your Cowgirls started off slow and fell behind (5-9). Then the Cowgirls battled back and with a kill by Junior Kristin Woody the Cowgirls took the lead (13-12). To end the first set, the Orediggers had back to back attack errors on serves by the Cowgirls (25-20).
In the second set, the Orediggers came out on a mission and both teams were in it until Mines went on a 7 point run and took the second set (25-13).
At the start of the third set, the Cowgirls had a hard time and fell behind in the beginning (0-5 CSM). The Cowgirls fought back with back to back kills by Senior Caroline Hansen to get within four points (11-7). After that, the Orediggers took over and won the set (25-15).
In the final and fourth set, the Cowgirls battled in the beginning and stayed close to the Orediggers. The Cowgirls were only down by one point until the Orediggers took over and went on a 6-0 run. After that your Cowgirls battled to the end, but the Orediggers took this win home with them (25-8).
