LAS VEGAS, N.M. ---Â The New Mexico Highlands volleyball team opens a five-game home stretch this weekend as the Cowgirls host Westminster College 7 p.m. Friday and Dixie State 6 p.m. Saturday at Wilson Complex.
COWGIRLS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | SEASON STATS
The Cowgirls dropped a pair of games on the road last weekend, falling at MSU Denver 3-0 on Friday and a tough 3-2 contest at Chadron State on Saturday. In the loss Saturday, the Cowgirls had four players in double figures in kills in
Tiffany Matchett (15),
Cynthia Norris (14),
Camryn Nelson (12) and
Stacy Johnson (12).
On the season, Matchett (2.93) and Norris (2.16) lead the team in kills per set while both
Julie Staffler (1.95) and Nelson (1.91) are nearing two kills per set. Johnson leads the team in hitting percentage at .217. The Cowgirls have three players averaging more than three assists per set in
Celina Naranjo (5.15),
Samantha Sjogren (3.70) and
Soleil Gandara (3.37) while
Elena Rivera lead the team in digs per set (4.75).

ABOUT WESTMINSTER | SEASON STATS
The Griffins split a pair of matches last weekend, beating Western State Colorado 3-1 on the road and falling at Colorado Mesa 3-0. Audrey Green paced Westminster in the win with 17 kills to go along with 13 digs while Aggie Roese-Olsen had a team-high 48 assists. In the loss to Mesa, Green led the team again with eight kills.
On the season, Green leads the team with 3.4 kills per set (she also leads the team with 20 aces) while Sydnee Simmons is second at 2.01 (she leads the team at 0.72 blocks per set). Roese-Olsen is the team's primary setter with at more than 8.0 assists per set while Jaylee Lehenbauer and Hannah Stearman are averaging more than 3.0 digs per set.Â

ABOUT DIXIE STATEÂ | SEASON STATS
The Trailblazers have won five of their last six matches with their only loss coming to MSU Denver at home on Oct. 6. Last weekend Dixie State beat Colorado Mesa 3-1 on Friday and Western State Colorado 3-0 on Saturday on the road.
On the season, Megan Treanor leads the Trailblazers at 3.0 kills per set while To'a Faleao-Baich is averaging 2.43 (she also leads the team at 0.38 aces per set) and Malary Marshall is at 2.0 kills per set. Jordyn Nelson is the team's top setter (6.08) while Treanor (3.12) is also averaging more than three assists per contest. Sid Brandon leads the team in digs (4.15 per set) and Lauren Gammell leads the team in blocks per set (1.63).
