High-scoring Cowboys open RMAC play at home vs. CSU-Pueblo

LAS VEGAS, N.M. --- The New Mexico Highlands men's basketball team puts its four-game winning streak on the line as the Cowboys - the top scoring team in the RMAC - host CSU-Pueblo 7 p.m. Saturday to open RMAC play at Wilson Complex.

THE COWBOYS COMING INTO THIS WEEK | SEASON STATS
The Cowboys have won four consecutive games since dropping their season opener in Albuquerque to Western New Mexico (a game they led by 17 points in the second half) - a loss it has since avenged in Silver City. NMHU last played Nov. 19 on the road - beating Northern New Mexico 94-82 in Espanola, two days after beating University of the Southwest at home 119-84 (the most points the Cowboys have scored in at least the last 16 years).

The Cowboys are averaging 89 points per game - tops in the RMAC - and are tied for first in scoring margin at plus-11 points per game. The Cowboys also rank in the top five in the conference in free throw percentage (74.4 - fifth), field goal percentage (47.7 - third), field goal percentage defense (42.6 percent - fifth), blocked shots (4.2 - tied for fourth), steals (8.6 - second), assists (15.2 - fifth), turnover margin (plus-4.0 - second), assist-to-turnover ration (1.5 - first) and 3-pointers made (9.2 - third).

Gerad Davis leads the Cowboys and is third in the conference in scoring at 22 points per game while also averaging 6.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.2 steals per game. Jordan Jones is averaging 14.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game, Raquan Mitchell is averaging 13.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists (tied for sixth in the RMAC) while Nnamdi Okoro is at 11.0 points, 8.2 rebounds (third in the RMAC) and 1.6 blocks per game (sixth in the RMAC). Okoro is also second in the conference in field goal percentage (71.4 percent).

ABOUT CSU-PUEBLO | SEASON STATS
The ThunderWolves dropped a pair of contests last weekend on the road, falling at West Texas A&M 105-71 and at Lubbock Christian 89-79. CSU-Pueblo's wins this season have come on the road at Arkansas-Fort Smith on Nov. 9 (90-83) and at home against Wayland Baptist on Nov. 17 (88-80).

CSU-Pueblo is averaging 75.7 points per contest (ninth in the RMAC) while allowing 86.2 (15th in the RMAC). The ThunderWolves are fourth in the conference in field goal percentage (46.6) and fifth in 3-point percentage (38.3). The ThunderWolves are last in the RMAC in turnover margin at minus-6.3.

Donovan Oldham leads CSU-Pueblo in scoring at 17 points per game (eighth in the RMAC), is shooting 47.4 percent from 3-point range and 91.3 percent from the free throw line. Jason Anderson is averaging 12.0 points and a team-best 6.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game while Cade Corrol is averaging 11.4 points per game coming off the bench and is second on the team at 5.0 rebounds per game.

LAST SEASON VERSUS CSU-PUEBLO
The Cowboys won a pair of close contests against the ThunderWolves last season, winning at home 83-81 and beating CSU-Pueblo on the road 81-76.
