COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. --- The New Mexico Highlands women's soccer team lost to University of Colorado Colorado Springs 8-0 on the road Sunday afternoon.
UCCS (4-1-1 overall, 2-0 RMAC), an NCAA Final Four team a year ago, scored five first-half goals before adding on three more in the second half.
The Cowgirls (0-5, 0-2) finished with three shots, two on goal – one each by
Alondra Gildo-Ceballos and another by
Nitza Rodriguez. UCCS finished with 26 with 14 on goal.
The Cowgirls return home to take on Colorado Christian 5 p.m. Friday before hosting Colorado School of Mines 1 p.m. Sunday.
