LAS VEGAS, N.M. --- The New Mexico Highlands volleyball team is eager to get back on track after dropping two matches on the road last weekend and stay in the race for one of the eight spots into the RMAC Tournament as the Cowgirls hit the road to take on Fort Lewis on Friday and Adams State on Saturday.
 
LAST TIME OUT FOR COWGIRLS (5-10, 3-4) | SEASON STATS
The Cowgirls, in ninth place in the RMAC at 3-4 - a half game behind Westminster and a game back of UCCS and Colorado Christian - dropped a pair of matches last weekend on the road, falling to No. 23 Regis and Colorado Christian in straight sets.

This weekend will mark NMHU's 14th and 15th road contest in 17 matches, though the Cowgirls will play seven of their nine matches at home.

Tiffany Matchett continues to lead the team in kills at 2.58 per set and is second in digs at 3.69. Camryn Nelson (1.89), Julie Staffler (1.89), Cynthia Norris (1.82) and Stacy Johnson (1.38) are also averaging more than one kill per set on the season. Celina Naranjo leads the Cowgirls in assists (4.87 per set) and aces (0.31 per set - 10th in the RMAC) while Elena Rivera leads the team at 5.06 digs per set - good for third in the RMAC.
 
ABOUT FORT LEWIS (1-9, 1-5) | SEASON STATS
The Skyhawks have dropped their last five matches - winning two games over that stretch. FLC's lone win on the season came against Chadron State on Sept. 7 (3-1). Haley Christiansen leads the team in kills at 2.94 while Bailey Longacre is also averaging more than two kills per set at 2.19. The Skyhawks have two setters in Bella Valdez (5.48 assists per game) and Kendra Swackenberg (4.53). 
 
ABOUT ADAMS STATE (4-10, 2-3) | SEASON STATS
The Grizzlies are 1-3 over their last four matches with losses on the road at Colorado School of Mines (3-0), UC Colorado Springs (3-2) and Dixie State (3-0) with their lone win coming over Westminster (3-1). Like NMHU, Adams State has spent much of its season on the road as this will be its third (they host CSU-Pueblo on Friday) and fourth home games of the season. The Grizzlies are led by Hannah Goddard's 3.06 kills per set this season while Shannon Mulkey is at 2.47 and Julianna Zamora is at 2.09. Adams State's primary setter is Rachael Ringler as she is averaging 10.02 assists per set - good for fourth in the RMAC.
