LAS VEGAS, N.M. --- The New Mexico Highlands women's soccer team lost to Colorado State University-Pueblo 4-0 Sunday afternoon at Sanchez Family Stadium.
The Cowgirls (0-8 overall, 0-5 RMAC) trailed 1-0 at the half as CSU-Pueblo's Laikyn Koss scored in the 6th minute on a cross from Mackenzie Bean.
The ThunderWolves (5-3-1, 2-3) expanded their lead with goals in the 57th minute (Bean), 61st minute (Koss) and the 73rd minute (Bean) to finish with the 4-0 win over NMHU.
CSU-Pueblo finished with 13 shots (seven on goal) compared to seven for the Cowgirls (three on goal).
Janis Martinez led the Cowgirls with two shots with one on goal.
The Cowgirls return to action 7 p.m. Friday as they travel to take on Regis in Denver.
