Cowboys dominant at Bronco Duals in Nebraska

HASTINGS, Neb. --- The New Mexico Highlands wrestling team had a dominant performance at the Hastings College Bronco Duals on Saturday, winning all three of their duals by a large margin at Farrell Arena.
 
The Cowboys defeated University of Saint Mary (KS) 42-7, beat host Hastings 38-10 and blanked Benedictine College 47-0.
 
NMHU saw Isaac Garcia (133 pounds), Logan Pine (149), Allen Michel (157), Lance Killgore (174), Chris Collins (197) and Julian Sanchez (285) all go 3-0 on the day.
 
Michel may have had the most dominant day, pinning all three of his opponents in a combined 4 minutes, 55 seconds with no match lasting longer than 2:13. Pine pinned his first two opponents in the first two minutes of the match while edging Benedictine's Keenan Graef 6-5 to finish 3-0. Collins went 3-0 with two pins and forfeit. Jonathan Trujillo went 2-0 for the Cowboys with an 8-3 win against St. Mary's and a 7-0 win over Hastings.
 
NMHU has a pair of duals coming up this week, traveling to take on CSU-Pueblo on Wednesday and returning home to face Adams State 6 p.m. Thursday.
