Men's Basketball hosts Western New Mexico for 19-20 season home opener

Las Vegas, NM --- The New Mexico Highlands Men's Basketball team hosts Western New Mexico on Wednesday November 13th, at Wilson Complex at 6 pm.
 
The Cowboys and the Mustangs recently met in the RMAC/Lonestar Conference Challenge where the Cowboys seemed to be too much for the Mustangs. The Cowboys won the match-up 102-75 behind Sammy Barnes-Thompkins with 26 points and four steals.
 
ABOUT WESTERN NEW MEXICO: The Mustangs are 0-2 on the season after losing to Fort Lewis on Saturday night 91-78. Rodney Simon will look to lead the way offensively as he is averaging a team high 15 points and 6 rebounds per game. Michael McDougal will also look to aid on the offensive side as he is averaging 12 points and 5 assists per game.
 
ABOUT THE COWBOYS: The Cowboys are 2-0 on the season after winning both their games at the Conference Challenge this past weekend. Raquan Mitchell continued to be an offensive threat for the Cowboys as he averaged 27 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. Sammy Barnes-Thompkins also stepped up big for the Cowboys as he averaged 27.5 points per game and also recorded 12 steals on the weekend. Will Johnson dominated down-low where he grabbed 11 boards and averaged 7.5 points per game.
