Las Vegas, NM --- The New Mexico Highlands Men's basketball team host's Dixie State on Friday night at 7 pm and Westminster College on Saturday night at 7 pm, both games at Wilson Complex in Las Vegas, NM.
 
NMHU Athletics has teamed up with The National Guard for a Toy Drive on Saturday's game. One toy will get one person in to the game for free and NMHU Athletics is also hosting a meet and greet for the community. Come out and meet your 2019-2020 NMHU Cowboys after the game with autographs, schedules, and more!
 
ABOUT DIXIE STATE: The Trailblazers are looking to continue their conference win streak as they are 3-0 to start conference. On the season, the Trailblazers average 82.3 points per game while shooting 48% from the field and 37.5% from three. The Trailblazers also average around 41 rebounds and 19 assists per game. Hunter Shofield, who is ranked 10th in the RMAC in scoring, averages 17.1 points while shooting 52% from the field. Jack Pagenkopf averages 12.4 points and both Pagenkopf and Shofield lead the team in rebounds averaging 7.8 per game. Frank Staine (11.3 points, 3.1 rebounds) and Dason Youngblood (10.1 points, 4.3 rebounds) will also look to aid the Trailblazers.
 
ABOUT WESTMINSTER: The Griffins come in to the weekend ranked third in the conference thus far. On the season, the Griffins average 75.4 points per game while shooting 46% from the field and 38% from the three. Leading the way offensively is Brandon Warr, ranked 7th in RMAC in scoring, who averages 17.7 points and leads the team in rebounds with 10.1 per game while shooting 49% from the field. Also looking to aid the Griffins is Jai Jai Ely (13.9 points, 2.9 rebounds), Alec Monson (12.6 points, 6.3 rebounds), and Jake Connor (11.6 points, 3.9 rebounds).
 
ABOUT THE COWBOYS: The Cowboys come in to the weekend as the hottest team offensively in the RMAC averaging 93.7 points per game while shooting 47% from the field and 36% from three. The Cowboys average 40.7 rebounds and 12.4 assists while forcing an average of 16.4 turnovers against opponents. Sammy Barnes-Thompkins, who leads the RMAC in scoring, averages 24.7 points per game and also grabs 3.7 rebounds. Not far behind is Raquan Mitchell, who is ranked 3rd in RMAC scoring, at 21.1 points per game and also averages 5 rebounds. Also a threat for the Cowboys is Desmond Carpenter who averages 11 points and 4.9 rebounds and Will Johnson will look to keep the paint clean with 6.6 rebounds and 6.4 points per game.
