Las Vegas, NM --- The New Mexico Highlands Men's basketball team heads to Colorado for their opening weekend of conference play against Fort Lewis College on Friday night at 7:30 pm and Adams State on Saturday night at 7:30 pm.
 
ABOUT FORT LEWIS: The Skyhawks are coming off a 97-59 win over Park University and have not lost a game this season. The Skyhawks are shooting 51.4% from the field which includes 44.2% from three while averaging 92.2 points (2nd in RMAC), 38.3 rebounds, and 16.7 assists per game. Riley Farris will be a threat offensively for the Skyhawks as he is averaging 23.3 points and 7.2 rebounds on the season. Akuel Kot (15.8 points, 4 rebounds, 3.7 assists), Danny Garrick (14.5 points, 6 rebounds), and Will Wittman (10.5 points, 5 rebounds) will also look to aid the Skyhawks.
 
ABOUT ADAMS STATE: The Grizzlies are coming off a 95-81 loss to Montana State Billings after winning two straight games. On the season, the Grizzlies average 77 points, 33.2 rebounds and 13.3 assists per game. Kaelin Crane leads the way offensively as he averages 19.5 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. Ryle O'brien (12.5 points), Rickey Norris (11 points, 7.6 rebounds), and Juwan Green (9 points, 3 assists) will also look to aid the Grizzlies this weekend.
 
ABOUT THE COWBOYS: The Cowboys are coming off an 89-68 win over the University of the Southwest (NM) and have won 5 straight games this season. The Cowboys average 94.4 points (1st in RMAC), 41 rebounds, and 11.4 turnovers per game this year. Sammy Barnes-Thompkins is first in the RMAC so far in scoring with 24.6 points per game and also averages 2.8 assists and 3.2 steals. Raquan Mitchell (), Desmond Carpenter (), and Darius Harrison () will also look to aid the Cowboys to a good start to their conference season.
