LAS VEGAS, N.M. --- The New Mexico Highlands women's started strong, but fell to MSU Denver 101-63 Friday night at Wilson Complex.
The Cowgirls (3-23 overall, 2-18 RMAC) trailed just 19-18 with 1:39 remaining in the first quarter after a pair of
Jordyn Lewis free throws and trailed 25-20 after the first quarter. But the Roadrunners (14-12, 13-7) went on to outscore NMHU 26-3 in the second quarter to pull away.
Jordyn Lewis led the Cowgirls with 24 points, going 4-for-6 from beyond the arc, to go along with three assists while
Allyah George had 22 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals.
NMHU celebrates senior day Saturday at 5 p.m. as the Cowgirls will honor George and fellow senior
